What are white fillings?
Fillings restore the shape of teeth damaged by decay. The most common symptom of needing a filling is pain and sensitivity in a particular tooth. If you’re suffering from toothache, your dentist will be able to advise you as to whether the affected tooth is decayed and will therefore need a filling.
Stop toothache and restore your smile the discreet way
Our white fillings treatment near Brighton includes fillings that are both discreet and hard wearing. We colour-match the filler material to your natural teeth, so that your smile remains perfect. Our skilled dentists will offer an anaesthetic prior to the white fillings procedure, to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout. Nervous patients have nothing to fear. Our approach is gentle and informative.
- Discreetly repair decayed teeth
- No more tooth pain
- Colour-matched to your natural teeth
- Enhance your smile
- Procedures performed by skilled dentists
If you have a tooth that is affected by decay, our dentist here will provide you with a local anaesthetic before drilling out the decayed material.
The cavity will be cleaned and a white filling, made from a composite or silicate material, will be bonded to your tooth. We are an amalgam free practice and our composites do not contain mercury. Your smile won’t be affected by your filling, because the filled tooth will look entirely natural.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is filling treatment painful?
You will be given a local anaesthetic before the dentist drills out the decayed material, so you won’t be in any pain.
How long will the treatment take?
This is usually a matter of minutes, but it does depend on the health of your teeth. Our dentist will be able to advise you on roughly how long the treatment will take.
Are all teeth suitable for white fillings?
If the cavity is large, as is often the case with back teeth, you may need an inlay instead.
How visible are white fillings?
We colour-match your fillings to your existing teeth to ensure they are almost invisible.
What are the advantages of white fillings?
White fillings are more discreet than those made from silver amalgam material and in some cases, the mouth requires less preparation due to the putty nature of the filling. You may not need anaesthetic first.
