Established 50 years ago as a family practice, which focuses on achieving excellent results for our patients, we have gone from strength to strength. The members of our dental team have each trained for many years and are well respected in the industry.
Their experience in the field gives them an innate feel for providing the best possible treatment. We have also invested heavily in our practice to ensure we have cutting edge equipment and a surgery which is comfortable, modern and designed to put you at ease.

Ali has been at Down House Dental Practice since July 2020 but has been a qualified dentist since 2004.
Ali has a caring and gentle approach to treating patients; taking their concerns and requests seriously to ensure that they receive the best care and outcome from their visit. Ali is passionate about improving patients smiles to give them better self-esteem and confidence smiling daily.
Over the years of being a dentist Ali has taken a special interest in several areas of dentistry including cosmetics, comprehensive teeth straightening and implant restorations.
Ali is still looking to the future and wanting to provide his patients with more treatment options and has enrolled on an endodontic course where he will be able to offer more patients root fillings at the practice for their convenience. Not only that Ali is hoping to enrol in 2024 on an implant placement course where he will be qualified to place implants as well as restore them.
Ali is a certified provider of Invisalign comprehensive system which can correct a wide range of teeth alignment issues.
Ali continues to keep his knowledge up to date, by attending courses in dentistry.

Clare qualified from Bristol in 2012 and since then has worked in general practice providing overall care for patients. She has a particular interest in treating anxious patients with the priority that everyone is comfortable and pain free. Clare also provides Invisalign Go and cosmetic work. In her spare time Clare enjoys crafting and sewing and walking her two dogs.

Dr Nina Simister joined Down House in 2026. Qualifying from Leeds Dental Institute in 2021, she has worked in general practice in North London and across Brighton and Hove, and completed a training year in Maxillo-facial Surgery. She strives to make every patient feel relaxed about coming to the dentist and confident about any treatments they need. Outside work, Nina is a keen tennis player and loves being outdoors in the South Downs.

James places all the dental implants at Downhouse Dental Practice. In addition to being an award-winning dentist, he is also a key opinion leader for Nobel Biocare, teaches dentists how to place and restore implants at Implant Courses UK and The Esthetic Alliance Programs, and is frequently published in leading industry magazines.
James has also taught at Guy’s Hospital in London, is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI), and has extensive experience in the management of dental implants and aesthetic dentistry.
He enjoys putting his artistic eye to his skills as a dentist to produce fantastic results and excels with patients of a nervous disposition.
In his spare time, James likes to keep very active and enjoys golf and fencing. Reading is one of his passions and he has even begun writing his own novel.

Tesh joined Down House Dental Practice in January 2018 and freshly qualified from Queen Mary University of London (The Royal London Dental Hospital) in 2017 for Dental Hygiene and Therapy.He splits his professional time between several practices and is dedicated to helping patient’s improve their oral health with a big emphasis on prevention. Tesh is particularly interested in treating nervous patients, providing the best standard of care in a calm approach to make treatment as comfortable as possible.Outside work, Tesh loves to spend as much time as possible with his family and friends as well as, travelling and running.

My Name is Catherine, and I joined the practice in 2021, as a dental nurse. Outside of work I spend my time with my Cocker spaniel called Rupert, who enjoys plenty of walkies. I enjoy baking, being green fingered and visiting the sea.
My name is Saffron; I joined the team at the start of 2026. I am a trainee dental nurse that loves working with people and helping them feel as comfortable as possible.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family.
I also love music, art, cooking and my 2 cats Charley and Suki!
My name is Emma. I am the receptionist at Down House and have worked here since August 2021. I am a caring person and endeavor to provide a friendly, polite, and professional service. Away from Down House I love to go on long walks with my hubby and best of all my Old English sheepdog BOO! I also enjoy baking, working on my allotment and spending quality time with my two daughters and three grandchildren who I am hoping are keeping me young.
