How discreet are Invisalign braces?

The thought of having fixed braces puts many people off the idea of having braces in Steyning. No matter how urgently they might need tooth-straightening treatment, or how straight teeth can potentially improve futures; love lives and career prospects, not to mention boost your confidence in your looks, they can’t see beyond the ugly metal brackets bonded to the tooth surfaces.

Here at the Down House Dental Practice in Steyning, we offer a leading brand of invisible braces; Invisalign. These are braces that are very discreet. Few people will realise you’re wearing them and they’ll also work hard to bring your teeth into a more flattering position in your mouth.

Thanks to their invisibility, during the Invisalign treatment period you should avoid any social awkwardness and the usual questioning that fixed braces tend to invite. Even though it’s well-meaning and spurred by curiosity rather than malice, traditional braces-wearers have reported getting fed up with having to answer repeated questions about how it feels to wear braces. If the braces you’re wearing aren’t obvious, they’re less likely to draw attention!

What makes Invisalign braces from our Steyning practice so discreet?

Invisalign braces consist of clear, thermoplastic aligner trays that are custom-made to fit snugly over your unique set of teeth. If you’re meeting your friends for a meal, there’s a chance you won’t even be wearing them, because it’s impossible to eat whilst wearing these braces. They must be removed before each meal. The fact that they’re removable will help you keep your teeth clean too, as you’ll take them out to brush your teeth.

When the aligner trays are in place, a firm pressure will be exerted on targeted teeth to correct your alignment issues, but be aware that one tray is not enough to see the journey of your teeth through from start to finish. You’ll need to visit your dentist periodically to have a new tray fitted. Each new tray continues the treatment. Each new tray is just as discreet as the last.

Gone are the days when braces were an eyesore. These days we can offer you options that are virtually invisible, without compromising on the effectiveness of your treatment. You should have perfectly straight teeth following treatment and often in a shorter time period than traditional braces will allow.

Please get in touch to book a consultation about invisible braces here at our Steyning practice and find out if you’d be a suitable candidate for Invisalign. We look forward to hearing from you.
